A couple in Richardson, Texas, put Hillary Clinton campaign signs outside their house, thinking everything would be fine.

However, recent incidents are making them wonder if they have become targets thanks to the signs.

Matt Steadman told CBSDFW that two of his Clinton signs were stolen from his property. He then noticed a third underneath his doormat, along with a note.

“It said, ‘Hillary for Prison 2016,’” Steadman told CBSDFW.

The following day, their SUV was destroyed. Steadman said someone put bleach inside the gas tank. Then Abby, their 2-year-old Shepherd Mix, fell ill that Sunday.

“She started tremoring, and she started shaking,” Steadman told the station.

Steadman’s veterinarian said Abby passed away on Monday after ingesting a neurotoxin, according to CBSDFW.

The couple is now questioning whether both incidents were caused by the same people.

A police spokesperson said there is no official investigation ongoing, according to CBS 11.

The Steadmans are hoping that someone with information will contact police.
