A viral video showing a dog protecting a boy offers all the evidence you need in that department. The dog was more than man’s best friend. He turned out to be the boy’s hero.

Yes, the protective dog knocked over the boy, but it was very clear for a good reason — to stand over him and fend him off from the charging pooch. It’s not known if Dog No. 2 was actually going for the oy, or just the boy’s dog. But the dog doing the protecting wanted to make certain.
Eventually, cooler heads prevailed, as the aggressive dog returned to his owner (presumably with his tail between his legs), and the boy to his mother.
