It is alleged that she went to tanning salons and the gym while children as young as 6 months old were left to fend for themselves.

January Neatherlin, 31, was arrested Wednesday because she “is alleged to have, on numerous occasions, left the two to seven kids in her care, who ranged in ages from 6 months to 4 years old, alone in her house when she went to the gym and tanning salon.”

The operator of Little Giggles Daycare services was investigated in 2014 because she was found caring for more children than allowed by a person without a license to do so, KTVZ reported.

Neighbors described Neatherlin’s actions “fishy” and noticed that she was not at her house in the middle of the day when she should have been, seeing as she was running a day care service. One also said that when snow was on the ground in front of Neatherlin’s house, no footprints were made for days.

“I can pick up on atmospheres a lot […] And it always had kind of a fishy one,” Hope Howard said.

Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel announced that Neatherlin faces 114 counts for her wrongdoing. Specifically, she faces 76 counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment and 38 counts of reckless endangerment.

Hummel says he is seeking the maximum punishment.

“Nothing is more precious than the safety and security of our children,” he said in a statement. “If the allegations against Ms. Neatherlin are proven in court, I will seek the maximum penalty authorized by law.”

The woman’s bail has been set at $200,000. The seemingly never ending list of charges is available to view online.
