Update: Geneva County District Attorney Kirke Adams told AL.com that there is probable cause Jonathan Medley had some sexual contact with the dog, but only on a misdemeanor level.
“We understand the public is outraged by this conduct, and are very upset that a misdemeanor offense is all that has been charged. But what he has allegedly done only fits the misdemeanor,” he said.
This story is just one big UGH.
An Alabama husband, angry that his wife was spending more time with the dog than with him, decided that the best way to handle the situation was to have sex with the dog.
39-year-old Jonathan Edward Medley was the guilty and jealous party. The funny thing is, Medley’s wife actually suspected that her husband was cheating on her with another woman. The truth is that the “other woman” was a 2-year-old shih tzu named Buster.
The suspicious wife began spying on her husband and she was the one who made the disturbing discovery.
“She actually thought he was having an affair with another woman and hid a recording device,” Geneva Police Capt. Ricky Morgan told the Dothan Eagle. “She learned he was in fact molesting the dog.”
It was initially thought that Buster would have to be put down due to injuries sustained, but, as WTVY reported, “Buster was examined by a vet and is reportedly doing well.”
Medley was arrested Friday and has been charged with misdemeanor bestiality.
