Two California high school teachers were arrested Saturday after allegedly having sex with students during two separate booze-filled beach trips, NBC 4 reports.
Thirty-eight-year-old Melody Lippert was arrested on charges of conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after organizing two beach trips for students at South Hills High, as well as having sex with several male students. Her 30-year-old colleague Michelle Ghirelli was also arrested on sex with a minor charges.
The first trip took place in November at San Clemente State Beach where Lippert provided alcohol to students and had sex with one of them. She brought Ghirelli on a trip several weeks later, where they both had sex with students.
“I’ve known her since like I was 4. She’s a really nice person and I would never think that she would do something like this,” student Keanu Estrada said about Lippert.
Both teachers were placed on paid administrative leave as the investigation continues.
