A 20-year-old student at Millersville University in Pennsylvania is facing serious consequences after he allegedly plotted to end his pregnant girlfriend’s pregnancy Friday by suggesting she drink a bottle of water in his refrigerator that was actually filled with bleach.

Theophilous Washington’s bail was set at $1 million after being charged with a felony count of attempted murder of an unborn child and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.

According to WHNT, Washington admitted to putting bleach in the bottle and had previously expressed a desire for her not to have the child. The woman is two months pregnant.

The victim and the accused were reportedly hanging out in his room late Thursday into early Friday. The woman was about to leave when Washington suggested she have the bottle of water.

After the woman drank what she thought was water she returned to her dorm room. When there, she began feeling a burning sensation in her throat and vomited.

That’s when she called 911.

District Attorney Craig Stedman called the charges against Washington “twisted, and the intended result [of his plot] nothing short of horrifying.”

“There is no greater call in law enforcement than to protect the most vulnerable among us, and there are none more vulnerable than the unborn,” he added.

Thankfully, both the woman and the unborn child are believed to be unharmed.
