A former teacher at a St. Martin’s Parish school in Louisiana is getting off of 10 years prison time, a judge has ruled, after she admitted to sleeping with a 15-year-old student.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kaylyn Huval, of Breaux Bridge, La., was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to a count of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, but that sentence has been suspended, KATC reported.
For the next five years, Huval will be on supervised probation and will be expected to get sex offender counseling. She must also register as a sex offender.
During that time, she may not be around minors that aren’t family members, may not go to bars, may not own a computer and must stay employed. She must also pay a $2,500 fine.
She has been barred from teaching again.
Huval was arrested in March of last year.
