One moment Amy Joe Derepentigny was unhappy that she didn’t have enough money to buy a cinnamon bun, and the next moment she tried to kill somebody.
The 34-year-old from Myrtle Beach, Florida allegedly had a heated argument with an unidentified man after she didn’t have enough money for a cinnamon bun on a grocery run, WBTV reported.
The argument reportedly escalated from there during a car ride back home. A 13-year-old teenage boy was in the car at the time. At one point, the man got out of the vehicle and started to unload items.
Amy Joe proceeded to threaten him, saying “if you step in front of this car, I’ll run you over.” That’s what he did and that’s what she decided to do.
The man got out of the way without being harmed and Derepentigny hit a fence instead.
She’s being charged with attempted murder, unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person and disorderly conduct.
