The human feces in the school lunch was discovered back in October of 2021. The principal tasted the food prior to it being served to the students. He noticed an odor and discoloration in the food.

As a result of the principal’s discovery the lunch was canceled that day. That turned out to be a very good thing for the students and staff.

The principal then had the tainted food sent to the public health center for testing

The discovery of the tainted food led the principal to have the school lunches sent to the public health center for testing. The food in the lunches was found to have E. coli bacteria in it.

The lunches were prepared in a different facility and distributed to several other schools, including the one where the E. coli was discovered in the food. No other schools that received the meals had any trace of the bacteria.

The tainted food was discovered prior to being served to the students. As a result there were no illnesses to the students or any of the staff.

Her motives for tainting the school lunches remains unknown

Following the incident, the school launched an investigation into how the human feces ended up in the food. The investigation discovered that the unnamed employee was responsible for the act. Although her motives for tainting the school lunches remains unknown.

It’s also not known how she managed to mix the feces into the side dishes. She has reportedly denied the claims.

In Japan it is customary for the principal or vice principal to eat lunch about 30 minutes before the food is served to the students. It isn’t practiced at all of the schools, but it was apparently at this school. Having the principals eat the food prior to being served to the children is meant to check the quality of the food to ensure that is of high enough standard to be served for lunch.
