Anyone who’s ever played a frustrating round of golf has probably envisioned themselves flinging their clubs into the Grand Canyon. Actually doing it, of course, would be a no-no. You’re not allowed to fling anything into the canyon. Nor are you allowed to hit a golf ball into it.

One woman has found this out the hard way, after a video of her doing exactly that — hitting a golf ball into the canyon — made its way to social media.
She has since been identified and arrested. A court date awaits.
Woman Facing Charges for Hitting Golf Ball Into Grand Canyon
But based on the video and clipped images, it’s safe to say she is guilty as charged. The Grand Canyon National Park Facebook page even ran her picture, questioning her decision-making skills.
“Do we really need to say, ‘don’t hit golf balls into the Grand Canyon?'” the caption read, adding that the woman posted her exploits to her TikTok page, offering major assists in helping authorities to identify her.
“On October 27, Grand Canyon Law Enforcement identified, located and contacted the individual responsible for the incident. Charges and a court appearance for the individual are pending.
“Throwing objects over the rim of the canyon is not only illegal but can also endanger hikers and wildlife who may be below.”
The individual in question has been identified as Katie Sigmond, who has a TikTok account that features 6.9 million followers. Several of her posts reveal she is indeed someone who enjoys hitting golf balls.
All of them show her hitting them in places where she is allowed to golf. It’s the one at the Grand Canyon that is drawing all the attention, however.
