You’re not really supposed to do the dishes when you can’t pay the tab at a restaurant. But hey, whatever works, right?

Right, said one woman who decided to offer help rather than pick up the check at the Waffle House. So, yes, she picked up some dishes — and started washing them.
This was revealed in a video posted by TikToker Victoria Kleimonov (aka @victoriakleim), which showed a non-paying customer behind the counter in Waffle House’s kitchen and putting in some actual work.
“When you don’t want to pay your tab so you ask the manager if you can do the dishes and clean the restaurant,” Kleimonov wrote. ““I swear, waffle house workers are the most laid back people.”
Needless to say the video has gone viral.

While the woman could actually pay her tab, she actually wanted to get behind the counter to help out some friends. Clearly, they didn’t actually need it.
“To clarify — she asked the manager jokingly if she cleans the kitchen if she’ll pay our tab and she agreed but we felt bad and ended up paying anyway,” Kleimonov explained.
So the winner in all this? Why, Waffle House of course. It received some free help, and got paid in full to boot.
