Woman Says She Was Body-Shamed by Disneyland Staff For ‘Dress Code Violation’

Mickey Mouse is generally thought of as one of animation’s friendliest characters. But one woman said she left his home feeling as if she had been treated anything but well. Laci Kay Somers, 30, from San Francisco, uploaded a video to TikTok where she showed off the outfit she chose to wear to Disneyland. It consisted of a sports bra, leggings, trainers and a baseball cap.

That wasn’t enough for Disneyland, which clearly states on its website it requires proper attire. According to the popular Florida theme park, Somers did not meet the criteria, she said.

“I got hit for dress code at Disneyland,” an electronic voice said via her TikTok, in which summers shrugs, turns from the camera, and skips away.

Several commenters supported Somers, while others took Disney’s side.

‘Buy a shirt, there is a dress code.. follow it or leave,” one comment read.

Another joked, “They really said she can’t come in here lookin like a snack when we’re trying to make 8 figures off these caramel apples.”

No matter who you think is in the right here, one thing is for sure: Disneyland always seems to aim for a family-friendly environment. If it thinks you’re distracting from that, you will likely get the ol’ heave-ho.

Moral of the story: Leave the costumes to Mickey and his pals. They appear to have a handle on it. And maybe just put on a shirt and call it a day. That’s all you have to do, but no, of course, influencers try to cancel places at all costs. This probably happens every day, someone gets asked to change due to their outfit. So yeah, it’s okay, just employees trying to do their job. Take it up with Mickey if you have a problem.
