Reports surfaced today that classified documents were discovered in the home of former Vice President Mike Pence by his own attorney last week.
The documents were reportedly turned in by Pence’s attorneys after being discovered.
The FBI and Justice Department have reportedly launched an investigation into how Pence obtained and transferred the classified material.
This outlet asked the question just days ago after learning of the 5th batch of Biden Documents discovered during an FBI search of his Delaware home, are other politicians also storing classified material?
Now we know the answer.
Agents from the FBI Indianapolis field office reportedly picked up the classified materials from Pence’s home in Carmel, Indiana the night that they were discovered.
CNN is now reporting that officials from Mike Pence’s office drove the boxes which contained classified materials back to Washington D.C., handing them over to the National Archives.
Pence’s representative to the National Archives Greg Jacobs released a statement about the matter, saying…
Vice President Pence was unaware of the existence of sensitive or classified documents at his personal residence,” Jacob wrote. “Vice President Pence understands the high importance of protecting sensitive and classified information and stands ready and willing to cooperate fully with the National Archives and any appropriate inquiry.”https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/24/politics/pence-classified-documents-fbi/index.html
This comes as President Biden is also embroiled in a classified documents scandal, with FBI officials discovering additional classified materials in his Delaware home during a search conducted last weekend.
Pence reportedly told his staff to search his homes and office for classified materials following the news of the Biden scandal.
Pence has repeatedly denied possession of classified material, using the FBI raid against President Trump to claim that he himself never possessed classified material during an interview with ABC news back in November of 2022.
A clip of that interview can be seen below.
