Trump sat at 43% in February. After the news of the possible indictment in early March, Trump now sits at 54%. His closest competitor, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, fell from 28% to 24%, and remains in a distant second place.

After news of his own document scandal, former Vice President Mike Pence saw his support fall from 7% to 6%.

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley was also among the biggest losers, as she shed 4% of her support from 7% to 3%. See a screenshot of that poll below…

Fox News reports…

Among the subgroup of voters who backed Trump in the 2020 general election, 60% support him in the GOP primary, while 25% go for DeSantis and 5% for Pence.

When asked who their second choice would be, Trump primary voters would back DeSantis, and the Florida governor’s primary voters would return the favor and go for Trump.

“The rumor that Trump is going to be indicted by the district attorney in Manhattan has helped him quite a bit among Republican primary voters,” says Republican pollster Daron Shaw who conducts Fox News surveys with Democrat Chris Anderson.  “They view the case as politically motivated and it reanimates feelings that Trump is still fighting forces they see as corrupt and out of control.”

Trump certainly seems to be putting distance between himself and the competition. It seems he may be the only choice.

Though we know that polling often does not reflect reality, this growing lead is certainly something to be kept in mind.

It’s official, DA Bragg has assisted Trump in boosting his poll numbers!
