Donald Trump completed the political hat trick—taking wins in the Republican contests in New Hampshire, South Carolina and now Nevada.
Winning by a lead of over 20 percent in Nevada, Trump overtook Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, who gained 23.9 percent and 21.4 percent, respectively.
Flanked by his sons at a victory rally Tuesday night in Nevada, Trump rattled off the groups he won in the caucus. “We won the evangelicals, we won with young, we won with old, we won with highly educated, we won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated,” Trump said to wild cheers.
“We’re the smartest people. We’re the most loyal people,” he continued.
Trump also touted his long-standing talking point of his popularity among Hispanic voters. Despite his immigration policy, entrance polls in Nevada showed that Trump was supported by 45 percent of Hispanic voters. “You know what I’m really happy about, because I’ve been saying it for a long time: 46 percent with the Hispanics,” Trump said at the victory rally.
