Recently former Secretary of State Clinton made this claim to reassure Americans, nobody is coming for your gun rights:
Unfortunately, some of her most supporters don’t agree.
Here are the top five backers of Hillary Clinton’s campaign who are advocating that the government confiscate, ban, or severely limit firearms and the second amendment.
Senator Dianne Feinstein
Senator Feinstein’s decades-long promotion of federal gun control, from registration to bans on the most popular kinds of guns, is evidence enough. But in 1995, Senator Feinstein made her position even more clear, lamenting to 60 Minutes that she just didn’t have 51 votes to demand Americans turn in our guns.
Former Attorney General Eric Holder
When Attorney General Holder wasn’t busy sending guns to drug cartels, he was working against Americans’ second amendment rights. In this 1995 CSPAN press conference, Holder begs for advertisements and programs to “brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.” He wants firearms to be regulated away from polite society, like smoking. To do this, he also proposed that schools incorporate anti-gun propaganda “every day at every level.”
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo
The current governor of New York, who signed the state’s most restrictive gun control law ever, is obviously no friend of gun owning Americans. But in 2012 he went beyond these extreme measures to say of firearms “Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it.”
California Attorney General Kamala Harris
Just last week, California’s Kamala Harris, proposed bans on just about every semi-automatic firearm on the market. That’s not just AR-15’s but also popular hunting rifles, further removing Californians’ right to keep and bear arms.
Senator Cory Booker
In 2000 then Councilman Cory Booker said “In my urban environment I see little to no need for guns at all,” and further when asked if he would ban all guns, he responded “I would. If I had the power to do so, I would.”
It’s hard to believe Clinton campaign promises when both she and her supporters have a long history of promoting gun control.
With endorsements from gun control advocates, how can we expect Hillary to follow a different path? Voters should be wary of how the Clinton administration would treat the Second Amendment, especially as she praises Australia’s gun confiscation.
