The backlash gained the attention of Jack McCain, the son of Senator John McCain. McCain, who is a Navy helicopter pilot, is married to Renee Swift McCain, who is a black woman, and an Air Force officer.
Calling out the “ignorant racists,” McCain posted a couple of tweets charging against those speaking out against the ad.
