When HBO’s Bill Maher told CNN’s Jeffrey Lord not to bullshit him during their Friday night interview, it summed up an awkward back and forth that focused on President Donald Trump.
Maher’s statement came as the two discussed possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Lord brought up claims of voter fraud.
“Let’s not play games here, Mr. Lord,” Maher barked at Lord. “Don’t bullshit me!”
“There are other ways you can affect an election, and one of them is to hack the emails of one side…one side… and release those as a slow drip, drip, drip.”
“Let’s get it all out there,” Lord responded.
Maher said that things would be clearer if President Trump would release his tax returns.
“It seems like a slap in the fact to the American people, and it seems like he’s hiding something,” Lord shot back.
When Lord called tax returns irrelevant, Maher plead with him to find a middle ground.
