Bailey announced that Gardener has until noon tomorrow to resign, or his office will file immediate removal proceedings. See a Tweet with that announcement below…
We are giving Kim Gardner until noon tomorrow to resign. If she refuses, she will face immediate removal proceedings in the form of a writ of quo warranto brought by our office.

Gardener has a history of taking serious public action against St. Louis Police. In 2018 she created a list of police officers she deemed as ‘racist’, and barred these cops from having the ability to testify in court.
Gardener has also been particularly lax on crime, previously refusing to charge a suspected drug dealer caught with $30k in cash and over 1,000 opiate pills by St. Louis Police.
The tipping point that caused this action from AG Bailey was a recent case in which Gardener refused to charge a man who had violated his bond more than 50 times.
Bailey was appointed to his position as Attorney General in November 2022 after former Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmidt was elected to the U.S. Senate. He was appointed by Governor Mike Parson.
Instead of protecting victims, Circuit Attorney Gardner is creating them. My office will do everything in its power to restore order, and eliminate the chaos in St. Louis caused by Kim Gardner’s neglect of her office.

Gardener has had a career of perpetuating lawlessness. The fact that it has taken this long for somebody to hold her accountable is a disgrace.
Hopefully this attempt is successful. St. Louis will be a lot safer without Gardener around.
