Last week a new bill was introduced by Democrat Representative from Texas Sheila Jackson Lee called H.R.61, or the “Leading Against White Supremacy Act of 2023”.

Within the bill lies provisions that would allow federal law enforcement to arrest and prosecute individuals who espouse ‘white supremacist ideology’.
Those provisions read directly from the bill…
b) Conspiracy.—A conspiracy to engage in white supremacy inspired hate crime shall be determined to exist—
(1) between two or more persons engaged in the planning, development, preparation, or perpetration of a white supremacy inspired hate crime; or
(2) between two or more persons—
(A) at least one of whom engaged in the planning, development, preparation, or perpetration of a white supremacy inspired hate crime; and
(B) at least one of whom published material advancing white supremacy, white supremacist ideology, antagonism based on “replacement theory”, or hate speech that vilifies or is otherwise directed against any non-White person or group, and such published material—
(i) was published on a social media platform or by other means of publication with the likelihood that it would be viewed by persons who are predisposed to engaging in any action in furtherance of a white supremacy inspired hate crime, or who are susceptible to being encouraged to engage in actions in furtherance of a white supremacy inspired hate crime;

Jackson Lee appeared on Joy Reid’s MSNBC show last night to discuss the bill. During the interview, Reid creepily prodded Jackson Lee about arresting Tucker Carlson for covering what they call ‘The Great Replacement Theory”.

Reid and Jackson Lee went as far as to blame Carlson for the Buffalo grocery store shooting in 2022. Jackson Lee insisted that her bill does not target speech.
In reality, the bill allows for federal law enforcement to determine the fate of the accused. As we have seen displayed throughout the Trump Presidency, federal law enforcement is extremely political in nature.
Trump was raided, and his home was searched. Warrants were obtained. Not only did the FBI not initially obtain warrants to search Biden’s homes, they allowed Biden’s attorneys to search for classified material unsupervised.
This bill would allow the same agents who spied on the Trump campaign to determine the intent of information being disseminated in the United States. H.R.61 would allow them the same powers, pertaining to speech.
