Fresh off calling for a ban to deny Muslims entry into the United States, Donald Trump has addressed the topic once again.
The Republican front-runner for the presidential nomination told CNN’s Don Lemon Wednesday that he is in fact “doing good for the Muslims.”
“Many Muslim friends of mine are in agreement with me,” Trump said to Lemon in a sit-down interview.
Trump’s friends say his suggestion is “so brilliant and so fantastic,” he said.
Trump said he even had “one of the most important people in the Middle East” give him a stamp of approval for his comments, but wouldn’t reveal who it was.
Trump went as far as to say, “I love the people of the Middle East.”
He continued by calling Muslims “phenomenal people” who are “so happy at what I’m doing.”
He clarified his comments on “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” by saying the embargo could be quick but needs to happen and that Muslim athletes and diplomats wouldn’t be subject to the discriminatory barrier.
