Son of Vince Wilfork Sentenced In Super Bowl Ring Theft Scheme

D’Aundre Holmes-Wilfork, the son of former New England Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork, stole approximately $400,000 worth of jewelry and sports memorabilia from his father – including two Super Bowl rings – and has pleaded guilty to theft of property greater than $300,000, according to court documents reported on by the Galveston Daily News.

Earlier in April, Holmes-Wilfork pleaded guilty and received a deferred judgement. It means that he’ll face five years of probation, with the promise that the conviction will be vacated if he avoids any violations in that time.

In addition to the two Super Bowl rings, Holmes-Wilfork stole several of his father’s AFC championship rings and his 2001 Miami Hurricanes college national championship ring, and sold them without his father’s permission in 2020.

Holmes-Wilfork was arrested on the charge in 2021.

The judge in the case also ordered that Wilfork’s stolen property be returned to him.

According to Holmes-Wilfork’s attorney, the Wilfork family wants to help D’Aundre.

“The outcome that emerged from the case was a result of much self reflection and healing on the defendant’s part and the willingness of his parents to forgive him and show him unconditional love with the sincere hope that he can be rehabilitated and go on to live a happy and productive life,” attorney Mark Aronowitz said in a statement to the Galveston Daily News.

Wilfork played two seasons with the Houston Texans after leaving the Patriots in 2014 but signed a one-day contract with New England in August 2017 to retire a Patriot.

Wilfork was recently named a finalist for the Patriots Hall of Fame.  He was a five-time Pro Bowler and a rock on New England’s defensive line for 11 seasons – he helped the team win Super Bowl titles in his first (2004) and last (2014) seasons in Foxboro.
