No dessert is more patriotic than this gorgeous Old Glory Berry Pie

It’s not your average American flag dessert.

This beautiful pie is filled with sweet strawberries and blueberries, and has a top crust shaped to look like the Stars and Stripes. Making it is a bit time consuming, but the finished product is definitely worth the effort.

• Pie dough (about 2 crusts’ worth)
• 4½ cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
• 1½ cups fresh blueberries
• ½ cup sugar
• ⅓ cup cornstarch
• ½ teaspoon almond extract, divided
• 1 large egg, beaten
• Sanding sugar
