Married Couple With 61-Year-Age Gap Vow to Start A Family

What’s age but a number? For one couple, it’s barely even that, actually.

And now Charles Pogue, 85, and wife Miracle Pogue, 24, say they want to start a family.

The two met at a laundromat, and while Miracle said she knew Charles was older, she didn’t realize by how much when he initially asked for her number. All she knew was “he was my knight in shining armor,” she said, via Tyla.

“One day he waltzed in here and threw a piece of paper down and said ‘write down your number’ like he’s a player.” Miracle said.

“We had a good vibe going, he didn’t make me feel weird. It was good conversation, he made me feel comfortable. I knew he was older but I didn’t know his age exactly.

“When I found out, I was in too deep, it was a couple of months in and I already had feelings for him. He was my baby and he wasn’t going anywhere.”

The two eventually began to date, getting to know each other. Eventually, Charles proposed. Miracle quickly accepted.

“I don’t care if he’s 100 or 55, I like him for him,” she said. “I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good. He’s always up and active.”

But a family? Well, that seems to be their hope despite the age gap.

“I want him to have another generation,” Miracle said. “We’re looking to go to an IVF clinic to talk about our options.

“We went to an IVF clinic before but we really felt the pre-judgment even though they don’t know me and it was quite overwhelming.

A Happy Family to Be

“Now I’m forgetting it as long as they give me my baby. Maybe Charles’ age will stop us from having children but I have an open mind. It may not work.”

Either way, most of Miracle’s family was accepting of the age gap. Her father is 49, her mom 45. Her grandfather, 72, is more than a decade younger than her husband.

“My grandad said if I was happy and it’s what I want to do then he’s happy. My dad was like ‘hell no ma’am, not at all,'” Miracle said. “It took a lot of time to convince him but I asked him if he wanted to lose his daughter forever.

“If he didn’t come to my wedding, he would have lost me forever. I told him I needed his support and to walk me down the aisle.

“Once he got to meet Charles and talk to him, he loved him.”

  1. First of all she doesn’t look 24, she looks like she has issues. Why would she want kids? She will inherit his money, house, everything. She is too sneaky this is for convenience. Stop lying about your age. The old man is a victim!

    • Not always. My soon to be husband is 65 and I’m 38. Granted, not a big age gap as hers, but age is a number. I don’t need my fiancés money. I work myself. And definitely aren’t starting a family.
