Finally, you don’t have to eat just chicken with your Chicken McNuggets. Now you can go beyond that.

More specifically, McDonald’s has rolled out the new plant-based Beyond Meat Chicken McNuggets in Germany, presumably making it a healthier option. Or at least an option for vegetarians and vegans, or maybe meat-eaters who are just sick of chicken.
No matter the reason, you can now go chicken-less in your nuggets.
For the record, McDonald’s has come up with a precise name for this new offering — McPlant Nuggets. This is a joint effort with Beyond Meat, just as the McPlant Burger has been since 2021.
Availability, of course, will depend on demand. So it’s not yet known if the McPlant Nuggets will make their way to the United States. Frankly, there doesn’t seem to be a great demand for plant-based items at McDonald’s, at least not in the U.S. But that could change as the options become more readily available.
Plant-Based Chicken McNuggets
As for the rest of the world, well, this could become a regular thing. That’s just based on the success of the McPlant Burger internationally.
Per USA Today: “European customers have generally been more receptive to McDonald’s plant-based meat products than those in the U.S. The McPlant burger is now a permanent menu item in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria and the Netherlands. Last month, McDonald’s rolled out the Double McPlant burger in the U.K. and Ireland.”
That said, McDonald’s gave up on the McPlant Burger in the U.S. and has not announced any future plans. That’s because it didn’t move the needle. Will the McPlant McNuggets? Guess we are about to find out.
