Many people believe that everything happens for a reason — things that should happen, happen. This ironic coincidence might have been one of those time.
Sandy Seibold’s husband passed away last spring from pancreatic cancer, and last Father’s Day, she and her 13-year-old daughter Saige went to visit him at his grave site.
While visiting her deceased father, Saige wrote a note explaining her father’s recent passing, attached it to a balloon and asked to be contacted by whoever might find it. The balloon said “#1 Dad,” and was attached to several other balloons.
After the release, Saige and her mom headed home. And when they got there, they spotted something they couldn’t believe: the letter had caught onto the fence in their backyard where Saige spent time with her father. The Seibolds live 25 miles from the cemetery.
“We felt it was a sign from my husband to let us know he was OK and to quit worrying about him,” Sandy told the New York Daily News. “He was an amazing man. He was a hard worker and he loved us. He did everything he could to get us everything that we wanted.”
“We had a really good life and that was hard to lose.”
