The saga between Chris Rock and Will Smith has taken another unexpected turn as Kenny Rock, the younger of the two brothers, has signed a contract to appear in a celebrity boxing event.

According to a report on TMZ, Kenny wants to cash in while people care defend his brothers honor and strike back against Smith following the slap at the Oscars.

Celebrity Boxing founder Damon Feldman signed Rock to a deal for a fight in Florida this summer. The contract left an opening for the opponent to be determined.

Kenny has been outspoken in support of his brother since the Oscars. In an interview with The L.A. Times earlier this month, he said: “The joke was funny. It wasn’t hilarious funny, but I know that if he knew that she had alopecia… he wouldn’t make a joke about that. But he didn’t know.”

He added that he has watched the video of his brother being slapped many times, and that it makes him angry each time.

“It eats at me watching it over and over again because you’ve seen a loved one being attacked and there’s nothing you can do about it,” he said. “Every time I’m watching the videos, it’s like a rendition that just keeps going over and over in my head. My brother was no threat to him and you just had no respect for him at that moment. You just belittled him in front of millions of people that watch the show.”

Obviously a fight between Rock and Smith is not going to happen, but it is funny that someone would try to cash in on the story.

The challenge comes after Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars 2022 ceremony, if you just woke up from a coma and did not know that. Smith has since apologized and resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

None of that will stop Kenny from speculating about how this fight would go. And, in no shock, Kenny thinks he would beat Will Smith despite being smaller than him, and never having played Muhammad Ali.

Smith has not commented publicly about the challenge and probably will not.
