We have a tough time sympathizing with this guy who lost a bet

When a Matthew Gonzalez lost a bet, he followed through on his word, but the cops didn’t think it was so funny. Gonzalez bet his friend on a Rockets vs. Warriors basketball game, and when his team didn’t cover, he agreed to let himself be taped to a street sign.

Eventually passing motorists became worried and called the police who arrived on the scene with an ambulance. KHOU reported that one of Gonzalez’s friends was approaching with a knife to cut him down when an officer shouted, “Drop the knife or I’ll tase you.”

Gonzalez said that it was between getting taped to a street sign or a car, and a coin flip decided that he be taped to a sign. The teens were let off with a lecture that taping your buddy to a street sign isn’t a good way to settle a bet and a warning not to try it again.
