Tigger the cat was dirty, really dirty. It was time for his first bath.

Not surprisingly, Tigger hated the bath, and screams “noooo!” the entire time his human tries to wash him.
“You may think cats are clean animals, and don’t need baths, but Tigger really doesn’t spend much time grooming himself for some reason,” wrote his human on YouTube. “He may not have been happy about the bath, but it was for his own good.”
This kitty is so mad it seems like it’s entirely made up of claws, teeth and flying fur. Turns out there’s several reasons for this. First of all, your basic cat prefers to make its own decisions. That is not what’s happening here.
Cats may also have an ancestral fear of getting wet. The original cats lived in dry areas and had no real reason to learn to swim.
Some cats just hate the entire grooming process. If that’s the case with your cat, use a professional groomer and spare yourself some potential injury. They are used to the process and maybe your cat will blame them and not you.
Most cats can take care of their own grooming, using their tongues and teeth to take care of things. Many cats enjoy regular brushing, which can also delay the need for watery immersion. If your cat really needs a bath, be calm and cautious. This is another one of those situations where panic and screaming will only make things worse.
