A Georgia family went through hell this week, after four teenagers who had asked to borrow a car jack bum-rushed the entrance of their home, firing off shots in the process.

Michael Lash was shot in the leg as he tried to block the front door of his home.
Michael’s wife was able to escape out the back door, grabbing her infant child after she heard the first shots.
With her husband wounded in both legs, Whitney Lash came face-to-face with another one of the criminals after he chased her out the back door.
According to Lash’s mother, her daughter pled with the man not to harm her child.
“He followed her and caught up with her at the gate and she turned around and said, ‘Please don’t shoot me, I have a little baby,'” Jessica Huffman told Channel 2 in Atlanta.
One of the home invaders then stole Lash’s cell phone as his friends trashed their house. According to Whitney’s mother, Michael is recovering at a local hospital, and police have not yet found the boys.
“I just hate it for those young boys that they’re doing this to their life, but if they’ve done it once I think they’ll do it again,” Huffman told Channel 2.
Following the incident, a GoFundMe was created to help the family with expenses through this rough time. As of Thursday evening, it had amassed almost $100,000 in donations.
In a post to the GoFundMe, Michael Lash’s father-in-law updated followers about his recovery, and reminded them of this very important lesson.
“Don Henley has a song called ‘In A New York Minute’ that talks about how life can change in an instant,” Tim Huffman wrote.
“We all have plans, as we should. But my lesson in this tragedy is to be more fully present in each moment…because we have no guarantee of tomorrow. Let’s help each other make the most of today,” he said.
