Five minutes and 25 seconds into the now-viral video one can hear train horns blasting before an officer yells at another police officer, “ move your car!”  and “stay back.” An officer is seen standing on the tracks, quickly looking in the direction of the incoming train. This before the train crashed into the patrol vehicle at full speed.

Train Hits Cop Car with Handcuffed Woman Inside

According to authorities, the woman who was hurt in the crash was identified as 20-year-old Yareni Rios-Gonzalez. Colorado Bureau of Investigation stated she is expected to survive her injuries, but was seriously hurt. Investigators stated that an officer stopped the woman just past railroad tracks. The reason why was a road rage incident that occurred on September 16th in Fort Lupton, Colorado. It allegedly involved a firearm. The officer parked the police car on the train tracks during her arrest.

Two other officers had arrived to detain Rios-Gonzalez on suspicion of felony menacing. They quickly arrested her and put her in the back of the police car.  As expected, the police officer whose patrol car was hit by the moving train was quickly placed on leave and is now pending investigation.

My two cents here, why in the world would you park a car in the middle of a train railroad track? In what mentality do you think this is safe? I don’t care if it was in the middle of the day, and there was no train seen anywhere near, this is just stupid. You would think a police officer is smart enough to know this. Also, if I was a woman I would sue this Police Department for so much money. They are lucky she did not pass away, honestly, they should fire this police officer.
