Al Franken thinks that a President-elect Donald Trump is FBI Director James Comey’s fault

There are many reasons why Democrats believe their presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, lost the race to President-elect Donald Trump, and FBI Director James Comey seems to be among the more popular sources of blame.

Months after praising Comey for his agency’s decision to not recommend charges against Clinton, Democrats took issue with Comey’s October announcement of a new investigation into her email servers.

And Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) is no exception.

During a Friday appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Franken was asked whether he believed that Comey’s new investigation made a noticeable difference in Clinton’s performance in the election.

Franken replied cautiously, saying:

“Look, Nate Silver and others have said that’s when the momentum turned. That’s when the momentum shifted. Of course, I think that made an enormous difference, yes. I’m with you, guys.”
