High school senior Samantha Jones says she was “appalled” when an atheist group in New Jersey called the American Humanist Association started a law suit to take the words “under God” out of the Pledge of Allegiance.
The group took aim at the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District and seeks to get the words removed throughout.
Jones has lawyered up, however, and gotten The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty to present her case. Notably, the Becket Fund has won every case of this kind it’s taken on.
Jones explained on “Huckabee” why this fight matters to her.
“This is about protecting our freedom as Americans,” she said. “I’m honored to be doing this.”
“[For me,] one nation under God sums up the values that makes our country great,” she added.
