Beer delivery? Wisconsin brewery Lakemaid is pondering a delivery system based off Amazon’s delivery drone ideas.

Here’s the CBS Minnesota report:
According to a video posted on YouTube, the folks at Stevens Point-based Lakemaid Beer are testing out the new technology on Lake Waconia.
Ice fishers put in a request for brews, and a drone flies it out to them.
The company plans to test the beer drones on Mille Lacs next, but there remain a few kinks they still have to work out, like for instance how to check the ID of buyers.
The Fort Mill Times reports that the Federal Aviation Administration also restricts the commercial use of drones by small businesses, but may issue new regulations by 2015.
While ID and air restrictions are large obstacles to overcome, this idea is a winner for businesses and a winner for the consumers.
Who knows, it could even reduce drunk driving. That awkward moment where you and three friends are having an extended beer session, you run out — but aren’t ready to quit — and the “soberest” is recruited to drive might cease to exist, and we’d be all the better for it.
