Irvin was asked about the Arizona altercation by Dallas Morning News, saying the following in a phone interview…

“Honestly, I’m a bit baffled with it all. This all happened in a 45-second conversation in the lobby,” Irvin told Gehlken in a phone interview. “When I got back after going out … I came into the lobby, and I talked to somebody. I talked to this girl. I don’t know her, and I talked to her for about 45 seconds.

“We shook hands. Then, I left. … That’s all I know.”

Glendale, Arizona police said that they received no calls or reports about any incident involving Michael Irvin.

Irvin added about the situation…

“What law did I break? There was definitely nothing physical. … That’s honestly all that happened,” Irvin added. “Nobody was in my room. It was a 45-second conversation in the lobby, a handshake and we left. … I don’t know. I don’t know what this is, and it’s running me crazy.”

NFL Media was the group that ultimately decided to pull Irvin from his Super Bowl coverage on Sunday.

NFL Network spokesman Alex Riethmiller said about Irvin…

“Michael Irvin will not be part of NFL Network’s Super Bowl LVII week coverage,”

The Hall of Famer joined 105.3 The Fan to discuss the matter. See a clip of that interview below…

How could the NFL punish Irvin with no proof that he did anything wrong? For a man that has dedicated so much of his time promoting the NFL, this is a tremendous wrong.

If they have proof that he did anything wrong, lets see it. If not, there is absolutely no justification for this cancellation.
