The actor’s lawsuit against former partner Amber Heard has been in the tabloids for quite awhile. The libel lodged against Depp by Heard was a large part of the litigation. It’s alleged that Amber spread lies of abuse to get Depp dropped from his project. Including one of his more popular roles, Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.

Now, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has hinted at possibly bringing Johnny back into the franchise. “He’s just so good at what he does. He’s a good individual and he’s a caring individual. He’s somebody that you can rely on and he’s just terrific. I think Johnny is an utter friend and an amazing artist and, again, you go through things in life you wish you hadn’t, but he’s still a talented artist.”

Bruckheimer has also made comments about how he’d ‘love’ to have Depp back in his lead role as Jack Sparrow. “I would love to have him in the movie,” he shared.

Depp’s representatives have shut down any rumors even though Disney executives have made comments that they’re interested in trying to patch up the relationship between them and the actor. Depp made it quite clear during the defamation lawsuit that he has no current plans of making a return to Disney.

Admonishments

Bruckheimer has said that it’s a shame how the industry turned on Depp during Heard’s allegations. He doesn’t appreciate the way that personal life invaded the actor’s work.

Some fans have made comments about how Depp was wrongfully accused and the executives of the franchise, including Disney themselves, didn’t stand by Johnny in the situation.

Jerry Bruckheimer & Disney need to issue an official apology to Johnny Depp for the way they treated him without any evidence. They threw him out after capitalising on a character that he created without a second thought. All on AH’s [Amber Heard] word. He deserved better,” a twitter user said.
