There have been numerous reports of a squirrel attack in the North Bay. As people enjoy their time, out and about, a rabid little rodent has been launching itself at them. They may look sweet and fuzzy, but with enough aggression, they can be really violent.
- The furry terrorist has been spotted flying at people as they walk past. The small teeth and claws, combined with unbridled fury, can cause serious damage.
- Joan Heblack was walking through Lucas Valley when she was attacked. “It clamped onto my leg. The tail was flying up here. I was like, ‘Get it off me, get off me!’ I didn’t want to touch it,” she recalled.
- “It came out of nowhere. I didn’t see him running up to me at all. Very scary. How do you get a squirrel attached to your leg off,” Heblack said. “This is beautiful, now it’s following us, until she almost killed me.”
An ER Trip
For Heblack, the squirrel attack reulted in a trip to the ER. Not only had it caused a lof of damage, it could also have been carrying a lot of disease. A squirrel may look cute, but they’re still rodents, and an attack could be nasty.
Another woman was also attacked by a squirrel. It’s unclear if its the same one, but they also needed to visit the hospital.
- “The squirrel went from the floor tried to jump up to my face, I tried to protect my face, my arm was completely overcome by squirrel. Finally it jumped off, by then I was full of blood, I run to the emergency room.”
Apparently, the squirrel attack isn’t an outlier. There are often reports of them going after people for apparently no reason. They are both territorial and aggressive. Often, they will associate human beings with food, too. If there is no food forthcoming, then it’s going to result in a squirrel attack.
Just make sure you travel with pockets full of peanuts to appease the horrible fuzzy rats.
