Schools are becoming more terrifying by the day. With increasing school shootings, many are scared to send their children to school. Now, it appears that this is not the only bizarre thing happening in US schools. Recently, a 24-year-old father was discovered posing as a high school student.

The Details: Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra is a 24-year-old man and father. The man has a daughter and an ex-fiancée in Toledo, according to the NY Post. However, to residents of Perrysburg, Ohio, he was someone else entirely.
- The father was posing as a 16-year-old high school student.
- He claimed a tragic backstory, stating he was homeless, an immigrant from Venezuela, and the victim of human trafficking.
- He successfully kept up this facade for over a year before being discovered.
How He Was Discovered

Labrador-Sierra was successful at duping authorities and classmates for over a year. Perhaps that is because he produced what appeared to be valid legal documentation. The NY Post shares that the father produced a “birth certificate shaving six years off his age.”
- Labrador-Sierra made the most of his “high-school” experience by making friends and joining the soccer team.
- One of the soccer moms admitted to the Post that the father was “well-liked” and “blended in.”
- Despite his “different build” and various tattoos, the woman claimed “he was charismatic and very nice.”
One Phone Call Changed It All: While this 24-year-old father was posing as a high schooler, his ex finacée was busy raising their child. Evelyn Camacho, the mother of Labrador-Sierra’s child, decided to call him one evening.
He had given her the number of Kathy and Brade Mefferd, his new “legal guardians.” Naturally, when they answered and explained who Labrador-Sierra was to them, Camacho was confused. When speaking to the Post, she said the following:
- “I was questioning what the truth was. Did he lie to me about being an adult? Or did he lie to them about being a child? I didn’t know what was going on. And I care about him. He’s the father of my daughter.”
The Plan Unravels
After that single phone call, the Mefferds grew suspicious. Therefore, they called the school, which then called the police. Once police searched his room, they made some startling discoveries. The Post shares that ” a burner cellphone, fake ID, a semiautomatic pistol and three loaded 9mm magazines, according to an arrest affidavit,” were all found in Labrador-Sierra’s room.
- When confronted, the father, posing as a higher schooler, pleaded guilty to lying on an immigration form and on an application to purchase a firearm.
- It was discovered that he was an illegal migrant and was therefore handed over to ICE. Now he faces “decades in prison.”
- His motive behind his bizarre actions remains unknown.
