Flights used to be an exciting endeavor, yet now they are just long security lines, uncomfortable seating, and inconsiderate passengers. One woman took to Reddit to share her most recent uncomfortable travel experience. A passenger who placed her feet on the woman’s seat refused to move them, sparking an in-flight showdown.

The Details: A woman was just trying to relax on her 8-hour flight. Unfortunatley, the passenger behind her had other plans. The passenger behind the woman decided that the legroom provided was not enough. Therefore, she opted to prop her feet up on the seat of the woman.
- In the Reddit post, the woman shared the following details. “I was recently on an 8-hour flight from the Middle East to London. The woman behind me had her feet, shoes, and all, propped up on the back of my seat, wedged into the narrow gap between the window and seat.”
Feet On The Seat Leads To An In-Flight Showdown
The woman was apparently feeling guilty for how she handled the toe trespasser. Admittedly, she handled the situation with poise at first. In her post, she shared that she first pointed it out to the “sole” invader by simply saying, “Excuse me?”
Any normal human would acknowledge the discomfort and remove their feet. However, this passenger had other plans. After the unwanted foot guest was addressed, she chose to respond with attitude.
- “What?? WHATT??’ the passenger replied, in a coarse tone. The passenger’s attitude was so unexpected that it left the woman too stunned to respond. Therefore, she suffered the foot fiasco in silence.
Suffering In Silence: Turns out the woman could only suffer in silence for so long. After hours of dealing with the woman’s feet on her seat, she decided to speak up again. Although this time, she lost her polite tone.
- “After about 4 hours of this, I’d had enough,” the woman explained in her Reddit post.
- “I stood up in my seat, turned around, and told her to move her feet.”
Similar to last time, the foot fiend did not handle the request well. The two women began to argue, and it turned into an in-flight showdown. However, the woman had finally had enough. She admitted that she raised her voice at the foot bandit.
- “I think she didn’t expect me to push back, because eventually her partner (who had been laughing at my earlier attempt) told her to remove her feet, and she reluctantly did,” the woman recalled.
Guilty Conscience
Although she got what she wanted in the end, the woman could not help but feel guilty for how she handled the toe trespasser. She asked the internet if her method of handling the situation was wrong, seeking validation that she was not a jerk.
She tried justifying her reaction by explaining her concerns. “I had already been traveling 6+ hours from Asia before this flight, I had a massive headache, and every time I leaned my head toward the window to sleep, I was terrified my hair would touch her shoes,” she explains.
Luckily for her, the majority of the internet agreed with her. Most people argued the foot fiend was inconsiderate and should have been dealt with by a flight attendant. I bet that after this experience, the “sole” invader will think twice before putting her feet on someone’s seat again.
