A college hockey player from Pennsylvania has been suspended from his team after he was caught on surveillance footage unapologetically pushing an empty wheelchair down the stairs of a crowded bar.

Carson Briere, a junior at Mercyhurst University and the son of former NHL player Danny Briere, was suspended by the school along with two other hockey team players, as reported by the Erie Times-News.
According to the outlet, the police are investigating the incident, which could result in criminal charges for the 23-year-old, after the surveillance footage was posted to Twitter on Tuesday. As expected, the video went insanely viral and has garnered over 37 million views.
In the video, Briere can be seen talking with two other young males. He then briefly sits in the empty wheelchair that is positioned in front of the stairs before getting up and pushing it down the stairs.

The video was shared on Twitter by user @juliazukowski, where she captioned it, “

An investigation is currently being conducted by Mercyhurst University, the Erie police, and the Erie County District Attorney’s Office into allegations of inappropriate student conduct after a police report was filed, according to the Times-News.
Rick Filippi, co-owner of Sullivan’s Pub & Eatery, where the incident occurred, told the newspaper that he was “obviously disgusted” upon seeing the video.
This isn’t the first time Briere gets into trouble. In 2019 he was removed from the Arizona State University hockey team for violating team rules before transferring to Mercyhurst a year later,.
On Wednesday, he issued an apology for his actions.
“I am truly sorry for my behavior on Saturday,” he stated. “There is no excuse for what I did, and I will do everything in my power to make amends for this serious lapse in judgment.”
