Part of the allure of the circus is the death-defying stunts that are performed. While more often than not, the performers land safely on the ground, there is always the risk that they will injure themselves — or worse. Unfortunately, that was exactly the case for one performer. Families were horrified as they witnessed a trapeze artist fall and die during a circus performance.

Trapeze Artist Falls And Dies During Performance
Marina was not new to her craft; she had been performing for quite some time. That is why no one expected this past Saturday to be her last performance. Alas, The Sun reported that during her solo performance “at around 5:45 pm,” she fell.
- Despite emergency services rushing to the scene, she died from her injuries instantaneously.
- Screams erupted, and parents covered their children’s eyes during the tragic event at the Paul Bush Circus.
- The trapeze artist has received many emotional tributes online.
Speaking Out: Ralf Huppertz, chief of Germany’s circus association, spoke to Germany’s Bild newspaper. He had this to say regarding the tragic accident.
- “It’s unusual for a well-trained artist like Marinia to not survive a fall from that height.”
Instead, Huppertz argues that Marina may have suffered a health problem, which could have played a role in her unfortunate death.
- Huppertz argued that the trapeze artist may have become dizzy during her performance.
- She was alone in the ring at the time of the accident.
- She had opted not to use safety ropes during her performance.
The horrifying ordeal is still under investigation by local authorities.
