A life-changing win: According to a news release by the Hoosier Lottery, the group is from Columbus. They hit the jackpot on a Hoosier Lotto ticket, matching all six numbers and snagging a cool $9.9 million.

  • The news release reveals that Milly and her group have played the Hoosier Lotto and various other games for over a decade. The group’s five members, Milly, Tony, Kendra, Jenny, and Roxanne, first met at a factory job and have remained in touch ever since.
  • Milly’s Lottery Pool reportedly entered every lottery drawing for the “fun and excitement” and dreamt of winning the jackpot one day. They finally got their wish on August 16.
  • The Hoosier Lottery reveals that the group purchased the winning ticket at Jack’s Place located at 910 3rd St. in Columbus.

One Of The Group Members Has A Lottery Themed YouTube Channel

The group took the winnings as a lump sum: According to the news release, Milly runs the “OldladyScratcher” YouTube channel and takes the lead in purchasing the tickets. She then posts pictures of the results in their Facebook Messenger group.

  • Milly reportedly forgot to post the results for the August 16 draw on the day and didn’t check until Monday. She scanned her ticket on the app and was surprised to learn the prize was too large to collect at a retailer. Once Milly discovered they’d hit the jackpot, she posted to the group, “OMG! Everyone, we hit it. We won!”
  • Most jackpots can be claimed in installments or in one go, although the latter is typically a lower amount. Milly’s Lottery Pool opted for the single payment of $4,682,171, which they split five ways. Hoosier Lottery also notes that Jack’s Place will receive $100,000 for selling the winning ticket.
  • The group members plan to spend their winnings on various items, including a car, but all agreed that the money would take weight off their shoulders.

Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Sarah M. Taylor said, “We love when Hoosiers play Indiana’s hometown favorite jackpot game, and we especially love it when Hoosiers win. The fact a group of longtime friends and co-workers from the Columbus-area have won this jackpot together adds an extra layer of excitement.”
