According to a news release by the Apopka Police Department, the incident occurred on Monday night at around 11:16 PM. Officers responded to a call from a home on Magnolia Blossom Court within the Errol Estates subdivision. A resident called the police when she spotted two people walking around the side of her house. She reportedly discovered they left flaming items on her porch.
The police department explains that the suspects fled the scene in a car, but officers pursued and captured them. “Both suspects were arrested and charged with Attempted Homicide, Arson, and Fleeing & Eluding,” the release reads.
The Police Department Reveals That The Suspects Knew The Resident
The Apopka Police Department reveals the suspects’ identities as Deliyah Fudge and Alyvia Green. Authorities say there is an ongoing dispute between Green and the victim.
A report by ClickOrlando provides more details about that dispute, alleging that Green lives at the residence where the victim found the fire. She also reportedly damaged a car windscreen outside the property. As they fled the police, Green and Fudge’s car reportedly raced at an “estimated top speed of 125 MPH.” They allegedly crashed their vehicle in Orlando.
The victim also claimed that Green had set fires in the house before, including the living room couch. Prior to Monday’s incident, Green reportedly argued with the victim at a funeral. The altercation escalated, and Apopka police responded to an incident where Green allegedly battered another family member and sprayed them with pepper spray. Per ClickOrlando, officers returned to the residence the next day, on August 16, after Green allegedly slashed tires on multiple vehicles.
The outlet reveals that one police officer noted the incidents were getting worse at the residence. They reportedly wrote, “These incidents have shown a clear and apparent escalation of violence, including battery, breaking windows, pepper spraying, slashing tires, and now this incident.”
A police investigation remains ongoing.
