The Details: A 22-year-old man posed as a high school senior to gain access to the school and its football team.
- Kelvin Luebke allegedly used a false identity and lied about his age to enroll in a Minnesota high school, according to the NY Post.
- While enrolled at the school, he joined the high school football team.
- Alpha News reported that he was discovered using fraudulent documents and was arrested on Sunday.
Parents Were Furious

Naturally, parents were not pleased to learn that a 22-year-old man had posed as a teen at their child’s Minnesota high school. The school’s principal, Principal Russell Reetz, sent out a letter to the parents. In that letter, he shared with them that an individual over the age of 21 had successfully evaded the district’s security measures.
- “Upon our initial investigation, we have determined that while enrolling this individual, we followed our enrollment process, which is as rigorous as state law allows.”
- The NY Post shares that, “White Bear Lake High School required enrollees to submit three required documents to the school.” Those three documents include “verification of birth date (birth certificate), proof of address (driver’s license or utility bill), and immunization records.”
Despite that confirmation, parents are not happy with the lapse in security.
A District Failure: Parents and students alike are flustered at the situation. Additionally, they are fearful that the school’s security is not as rigorous as it should be.
- When speaking to CBS News, a mother shared her fears. “I’m scared that they’re not keeping our kids safe,” she stated. “I don’t understand how this man got into my kid’s school.”
- Additionally, a student shared that they feel the “district failed us.” Adding, “The people who were overseeing this issue and let this slip past, they need to face the consequences.”
Unfortunately, Not The First Time
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that a grown man has provided falsified documents and snuck into a high school. A 24-year-old man and father also falsified documents and snuck into a high school in Ohio. During that encounter, the man claimed to be a 16-year-old boy and also gained access to school sports programs.
