Bronx Woman Attacked By Knife-Wielding Suspects On Moped While Partner Left Area To Pee

A Bronx woman was fatally injured during an altercation in Pelham Bay Park last week. Police are still searching for the attackers.

What happened: According to a report by AMNY, authorities explained that the bloody incident occurred near Park Drive and City Island Road on Wednesday at around 8:10 PM.

  • Police told the outlet that 30-year-old Anthonella Contreras Linarez and her 44-year-old boyfriend both suffered stab wounds during the attack. AMNY cites sources who claim the couple was riding through the area on their way to a dinner on City Island.
  • The boyfriend reportedly stopped the vehicle and walked into some bushes to pee. During that time, two male suspects approached the couple’s car on a moped, with Linarez still inside. They then stabbed her multiple times in the face and body.
  • Per the NY Daily News, the suspects demanded money, but Linarez refused. Police reportedly told the outlet that the rear passenger on the moped jumped off and attacked her.

The Woman’s Partner Rushed To Help When He Realized What Was Happening

Fatal injuries: The NY Daily News explains that the man ran over to the scooter when he saw what was happening. The knife-wielding suspect reportedly slashed his right arm before the pair sped off on their moped.

  • Per AMNY, authorities do not know what direction the moped was headed in after the attack. The man got in the car and drove to Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle. He survived the ordeal, but doctors pronounced Linarez dead shortly after arriving.
  • According to the NY Daily News, authorities have made no arrests in connection with the attack. Officers were reportedly gathering evidence at the couple’s apartment and are looking for surveillance cameras that may have spotted the moped.

Another senseless stabbing: Last month, authorities in Arizona sentenced a man to 18 years in prison for stabbing his wife. She died from her injuries.

  • The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office explained that witnesses heard a woman screaming for help. They found her sitting next to her husband in their Toyota Prius with multiple stab wounds.
  • The husband, 36-year-old Stephen Dennis, reportedly argued with witnesses before fleeing the scene. 37-year-old Aliccia Grant, the victim, made a dying declaration to an officer, revealing her attacker’s identity.
  • Dennis allegedly told authorities that the couple were newlyweds and discussing annulment at the time.
