Alec Baldwin just can’t seem to catch a break, with his latest debarkle seeing him wreck his wife’s car into a tree to avoid a “truck the size of a whale.”

Avoided Disaster: A befuddled Alec Baldwin staggered from his wife’s SUV after plowing it into a tree. He made his way home with no injuries and hopped straight on Instagram to reassure folks that he was okay. Still wearing the clothes from the car crash, he let people know what went down.
- As he explained, he swerved to avoid hitting a garbage truck the “size of a whale.” In his efforts to avoid becoming crushed by the trash compactor, he plowed into a tree instead. “I’ve never seen a garbage truck like it. It must have been something commercial,” he waxed, really getting into the size of it. “It must have been taking away material from construction, or something. It was the biggest garbage truck I’ve ever seen,” he continued, hammering the point home.
Alec Baldwin was cut off. He avoided hitting the planet’s largest garbage truck, for construction or something, and then crashed his car into a tree. Well, actually, it was his wife’s SUV, and he is very sad about it.

Alec Baldwin took to Instagram to reassure his fans that his car crash wasn’t anything serious. But he also used it as a chance to thank a whole bunch of people at the film festival. Before he embarked on his rambling car story, he thought it appropriate to address the people he had spent the last few days with.
- “I do wanna take an opportunity to congratulate everybody on the staff of the film festival,” he began. “Thank you to the Hamptons International Film Festival, thank you to the East Hamptons police department, for coming to my aid… Officer Gerken is his name. G.E.R.K.E.N,” he spelled out. “
Oscar acceptance speech out of the way, Alec Baldwin explained his wife’s car was wrecked in the crash, but he’s no more of a wreck than usual.
