Well, that’s awkward! Now that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are getting a divorce, it’s casting their previous interviews in a pretty embarrassing light.

Although they had been separated for months, Urban and Kidman kept up their relationship publicly. This led to some pretty awkward questions for Urban during interviews. Just take this one from September 2 on the Australian radio program Gold 101.7’s Jonesy & Amanda.
Urban appeared physically uncomfortable when interviewer Amanda Keller asked Urban about his relationship with Kidman.
She asked, “If you hadn’t both been there that day, would your paths somewhere have inevitably crossed? Or maybe this incredible life story wouldn’t have happened.”
- Urban responded, “No, I think I would.” He then dodged a question about if he believed in fate as well.
Still, determined, Keller said, “I just often think that. That if you weren’t at that event, maybe you don’t have the same friendship group, it may never have happened.”
- Urban removed his jacket and said, “You never know. Anyways, moving on.”
Keith Urban Gets Awkward
That’s just one of the awkward interactions that Urban has recently had about Kidman. Another interview featured Urban speaking on On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Seacrest couldn’t help but get flowery about Kidman’s work
He also asked Urban, “Is that something with your life, her life and mapping it all out with production and touring — that’s a job, isn’t it?”
- Urban replied, “It’s a job. Yeah. Life is in session.”
On September 30, Kidman filed for divorce after citing irreconcilable differences as the cause of the split. The two had been living apart for sometime with Urban’s inner circle saying he has “just been going through some stuff.”
“He has been making questionable choices for some time now and this was not the case of them just drifting apart,” one insider dished the tea.
Apparently, Kidman feels betrayed by the singer. The source added, “She wanted to save their marriage and believed that she could, but it seems he’s already moved on. Their lives were moving in different directions, and once he quietly set up his own place, it felt like the writing was on the wall.”
