What happened: According to a report by TMZ, Officers arrested Cruz on September 8 on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. Someone reportedly called the police, claiming the actor sprayed their daughter with a garden hose.
- The outlet claims that Cruz was washing his car at the time and asked the girl to move out of the way. She allegedly refused to budge and believes the actor sprayed her on purpose. TMZ explains that the incident occurred outside the actor’s home, and officers arrested him shortly after.
- A report by People sheds more light on the incident, explaining that it happened at around 10:40 AM. Raphael Berko, Cruz’s talent agent, told the outlet that a minivan parked “a half an inch” from his bumper while he was washing his car.
- Cruz reportedly asked the driver to move the van, but they refused. Berko allegedly told the outlet, “He goes, ‘come on, move your car. You’re not giving me room, and it’s going to get wet.” The actor returned to washing his car while the van’s occupants filmed him.
- The talent agent explained that Cruz turned around and asked them not to record him. Some of the water allegedly hit their van as he turned, and they notified the police.
The Actor Was Taken To Jail In Handcuffs
A first offense: Despite playing an intimidating drug lord on TV, Cruz has reportedly never been arrested before. Berko told People that the LAPD held Cruz in jail for five hours. “The LAPD were all very, very gracious and nice to him and reassuring,” he said.
- Per TMZ, authorities released Cruz from police custody on his own recognizance. He is due in court on October 1.
Another actor in trouble: Back in June, Martin Kove, who plays John Creese in Cobra Kai, allegedly bit a co-worker, Alicia Hannah-Kim, at a convention.
- Kove insisted he was playing, explaining that they play-fight on set regularly, per Minq. However, a police report states that an officer observed “A very noticeable bite mark on her arm.” Ultimately, Kim decided not to press charges, but requested an official report “in case this continues.”
- Authorities reportedly escorted Kove and his son from the convention following the incident.
