What happened: Media attention and vitriolic public ruined Britney Spears. She ended up having a public mental breakdown, much to the joy of the tabloids. Now, since her reemergence into the public eye, they’re all laying into her again.
- Every so often, Britney Spears will post another video to her social media platforms. They’re usually pretty odd and showcase the woman who has returned since her mental breakdown. It’s morbidly fascinating. She should be an example of why we need to be gentle and care for young celebrities. They can burn out.
Instead, we continue to harrow them even after they reemerge, just about healthy enough to reappear in the public eye. Of late, Britney Spears has been back, and her house is looking rather messy, with dog poop all over the floors.
Of course, people latched onto that.
Shame on You
But Britney Spears has spoken out about her dog poop filled house. In a very brief and clear message, she said, “Shame on those who judged my home in my pajamas !!! I’m in love with this picture !!! So so beautiful !!!”
- She shared it alongside a picture of Justin Bieber and his kid. It was a nice post, really. The two pop stars, famous before they were ready, can share in their struggles.
After a breakdown like Britney Spears endured, she needs support, not condemnation. On a basic level, I have no doubt she can take care of herself. However, she has undergone trauma and may need some support instead of criticism.
A dirty house covered in dog poop may be a sign that Britney Spears needs someone to come in and check up. But it’s not up to the public to point it out. She should be surrounded by a caring group of friends and family.
I hope she has someone who can give her a hand when things get a little tough. And, as she said, it’s not our place to judge her in her pajamas.
