Eric Nixon is a known helicopter stunt pilot and influencer. He is recognised for his death-defying tricks and risky maneuvers. But it was while doing some routine tricks at Huntington Beach that he lost control, crashing onto the beach.
Unlucky Landing: After swooping over people on the beach, Nixon finally came into land. As he pulled the helicopter up to gently touch down, something went wrong. Footage from the scene shows the helicopter starting to spiral, only a few hundred feet above the ground. It was quickly evident that this was not part of the show.
- As the helicopter spiraled out of control, Nixon was forced to bring the vehicle down with force. It smashed through several palm trees and folded down onto the boulevard alongside Huntington Beach. Bystanders rushed to the scene to help the victims trapped underneath it.
Helicopter Casualties
Both Nixon and his passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. However, for three people on the ground, they were not quite so lucky. As the helicopter crashed to the ground, three people, including one child, were trapped underneath.
Serious Injuries: All three were rushed to the ER. They had all sustained serious injuries. The young child can be seen being pulled from the wreckage of the helicopter by bystanders. The other two injured adults have not been identified. However, the young boy’s family has had to start a GoFundMe.
- “He is currently in the hospital receiving surgery; he has a collapsed lung and brain bleed. We are praying for a safe recovery, and we can’t really say anything else. We don’t know what is going to happen,” his sister wrote on the charity page.
Now, the young boy is recovering in the hospital. His family is thankful for the assistance in his recovery. Thankfully, there appears to be no deaths related to the helicopter crash.
